The Designers: Pranav and Neha love all things design. An uncanny similarity in their design sensibilities and aesthetics brought them together at the Pearl Academy of Fashion, Delhi where they had both enrolled for a post graduation course. Although Pranav was born and brought up in the capital; Neha got to travel places and cities because of her army background. An intrepid explorer, she claims that the diverse cultures across the country are full of inspiration. She has always had a very visual and graphic approach to thinking. So much so, that her fondest memories come to her in the form of graphics, art or music. Being born to a family of textile designers, Pranav’s affair with design, however, began early on in life. After completing a thoroughly instructive course at their design school that helped build the foundation of their aesthetic sensibilities, they worked for different export houses, lifestyle and fashion brands to nuance their design voices.

The Label: Owners of their own line, Cord, the duo debuted their label with a series of bags, and later branched into apparel. Their design detailing is intricate, and they celebrate the beauty of minimalism. Each of their bags is crafted with traditional methods and carries artprints that keep it chic. ‘We established Cord as a platform to share our passion for travel, art and fashion,’ says Pranav. ‘Each piece is designed to be used day in and out, with a focus on comfort and material. It’s about traditional craftsmanship merged with detailed design drawn from an inspiration that travels a nostalgic journey.’

The newly launched store hints at an intelligent use of space and houses their handbags and stunners from the current and past collections. With the addition of a flagship store, this enthusiastic duo seems to be on a mission; ‘The goal is to evolve constantly; trying new things that fit into our design philosophy, and never stop growing.’
