Five New Roasters That Show Promise

Kink, Naked, Rossette, Yours Truly and Beanlore are five new coffee roasters that have all opened within the last three years and each already looks promising. They follow some of the biggest trends in Indian coffee right now, from experimental processing and microlots to cafes built around roasting in-house. Most skip the heavy jargon that has made specialty coffee feel exclusive.

Rossette
Rossette sources directly from Indian estates and roasts on a German machine. Its range goes well beyond the classics with yeast naturals and whiskey barrel-aged lots. It is definitely the most process-driven name on this list and it follows the fermentation trend more closely than any of the others.

Yours Truly
Founded in 2025 inside a restored Art Deco bungalow in Kolkata, Yours Truly roasts in-house. Its beans come from respected estates including Ratnagiri and Attikan. It follows the experiential cafe trend and brings specialty coffee to a chai-loving city that has been slow to embrace it.

Kink Coffee
Founded in Bengaluru, Kink roasts small batches of Arabica and grinds only on order. They call themselves the ‘Youngest speciality coffee chain’. You’ll find them in Bengaluru and in Mumbai as well.

Naked Coffee
Started by Radhika Seth, Meghna Kaur, Naheel Koroth and Akash Thakkar, Naked roasts in-house. Its debut range of nine coffees drew on microlots and nanolots from eight estates across India and beyond. You can buy directly from them. They do pour-over bags and grind-to-order beans while deliberately avoiding tasting-note jargon.

Beanlore
Beanlore began as a single Layout cafe in Bengaluru and roasts its own beans in house. It built its name as a cafe and workspace with meeting pods for the city's startup crowd. It follows the neighbourhood cafe chain trend with at least four outlets and targets to open a lot more.
