Soho House

Soho House, the global membership club for creatives, has announced a significant expansion in India, launching its Cities Without Houses (CWH) membership in six new cities: New Delhi, Jaipur, Goa, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata. The company also confirmed it will open two new Soho Houses in the coming years – Soho House New Delhi and Soho House South Mumbai – following the successful opening of Soho House Mumbai over five years ago.

Cities Without Houses (CWH) membership connects creative-minded individuals in cities where there is no physical Soho House, curating special experiences and events for members to enjoy and be part of a community – as well giving members full access to Soho Houses globally when they travel.

Locally, members can expect an exciting programme of events ranging from One Night Only dinners, weekend getaways, must-see music talent performances, or an intimate fashion or art experience. Often centred around key cultural moments in global cities, upcoming CWH moments include: a One Night Affair with Tomo Koizumi in Tokyo, Salone del Mobile One Night Only Dinner in Milan, Arco Art Party in Lisbon, VIVID Sydney Under The Tunnels, and a Milan Fashion Week party.

In the coming years, Soho House will open two new Houses in India – Soho House New New Delhi and Soho House South Mumbai – offering indoor and outdoor spaces for members to eat, drink and socialise, as well as events to bring creative-minded people together.

Soho House New Delhi will be located in the historic neighbourhood of Mehrauli, a thriving creative hub that’s home to fashion houses, art galleries, design studios, and independent cafes and restaurants.

Soho House

‘We are committed to building a membership community of kind, interesting and creative people in India and are looking forward to expanding the experience for our members globally by opening two new Houses in New Delhi and South Mumbai.

Since opening Soho House Mumbai five years ago, we’ve loved seeing members support other members – one of the principles that Soho House was built on. Through our Soho Mentorship program, we’ve seen emerging local talent thrive and grow their network, and we look forward to continuing to do this across six new cities in India.’

Kelly Wardingham, Regional Operations Director, Asia

Soho House’s India expansion was announced at an event held at Soho House Mumbai to celebrate the launch of the new Soho House magazine. The intimate event was co-hosted by member and actor Ali Fazal, and guests sampled dishes from the Soho House Bangkok menu, including Tom Yum Goong Rolls, Kra Pow Kai and Panang Pla, with a live performance by Rajeev Raja Combine trio.

A home away from home for creatives, Soho House Mumbai is set within a 11-storey townhouse located on Juhu Beach with interiors and a colour scheme inspired by Indian culture and the city outside. The House features 38 bedrooms, a rooftop pool, gym and 32-seat screening room, as well as spaces for members to eat and drink. Cecconi’s Mumbai is situated on the ground floor and serves Northern Italian dishes to members and non-members.

Over the past five years since its opening, Soho House Mumbai has focused on building its community of members with a host of events that support emerging and established talent to flourish. Highlights have included: Alp, a weekend-long, short-video festival curated by Reema Maya, fashion panel discussions featuring pioneers like Gaurav Gupta, Akshat Bansal, Shubhika Sharma and Hanut Singh, international artist performances such as Parra for Cuva, Matt FX, Guy Williams, Marie Lung, and Jay Carder, as well as a Soho Residency with Ambika Nayak, who created and released their track ‘On My Own’ from the House.
