TV Dinner Nischay Parekh

The rather public breakup of the much-loved indie rock duo, Parekh & Singh, left the audience in despair, but the void has been quickly filled with familiar comfort by TV Dinner. Nischay Parekh, one half of the duo in pastel suits, announced his resurrection as TV Dinner. A stripped-down and very fresh version of the music he was known for earlier—reflective, warm, tender, and personal. TV Dinner has released two songs as of now, Non Believers and Guessing Games, but is already working on the next song, the next story. Both songs are groovy, delicate, gentle in their musicality, and minimal in their production. TV Dinner’s transition from Parekh & Singh to a solo project has allowed for a fresh perspective, bringing a new level of vulnerability and storytelling to his music. We love his ability to craft intimate, reflective compositions that resonate deeply.  `

New Music
I’ve come to appreciate music not just as an expression but as a way to connect with my experiences and emotions. It feels more like a conversation with listeners now, and I’m excited about that shift.
Becoming a parent has transformed my perspective on life and art. It has brought a newfound sense of wonder to my music, making it more personal and relatable, I think. I’m less obsessed with trying to make things perfect or self-absorbed in my creativity as well.

Having Dinner with Some TV
The name TV Dinner resonates with the idea of comfort and nostalgia. I enjoy shows that blend wit and depth, often with a touch of surrealism – they inspire me in my creative process. Dave has been one of my favourites in recent years, but I try to keep up with whatever new shows and movies are released into the world. I am a fan of the movie industry in all its forms.

Guessing Games
Guessing Games is a very delicate and introspective song, and I wanted to set the tone for my journey with that. I met the collaborators of Guessing Games through mutual friends and jam sessions. It was a mix of new and old friends, which was a very dynamic combination. The clarinet adds a unique texture that I love; perhaps an extended version could explore that even more.

Non Believers
This song is about the promise of true love and never giving up on the idea of finding your soulmate. I framed the idea of love as a fairy tale, almost like something that we're programmed not to believe in. Eventually, we're reminded that it exists in the most beautifully unexpected ways. Non Believers is about optimism.

Creative Process
I do find that feeling is essential for my creative process. It’s often the emotions that drive the music and the stories I want to tell. More and more, I am guided primarily by emotion rather than skill or technicalities. It’s very liberating as an artist.
In the studio, I like to maintain a collaborative and open atmosphere. I’m curious and adaptable, embracing whatever creative energy comes my way. Every idea is welcome, and I don’t push back against anything until I’ve treated an idea as my own and allowed it hold space. The creative process for TV Dinner is more experimental and collaborative. There is a limitless feeling of freedom that is driving my work these days. There are no constraints.

Next Up
I want to release more music and play more concerts than I have in the past. I'll be releasing a new song every month of this year. We’re already putting together the live show and planning a tour of India.
