India’s music festival season is upon us and that is certainly cause for celebration. There’s plenty to look forward to: with big artists like Olivia Dean and Katseye headlining Lollapalooza 2027, it seems like the lineup debate never ends. The indie scene is brimming as well. The culture of Rajasthan and Nagaland find spaces to thrive in the Hornbill Festival and Jodhpur Riff respectively, while DGTL India and Echoes of Earth return to familiar urban landscapes. Echoes of Earth
Celebrating its landmark 10th anniversary, Echoes of Earth returns to Bangalore on December 5th and 6th, 2026. Once again championing the environment, it considers itself a truly circular festival. Designed as a festival where everyone has something to enjoy, it is great for children, adults, pets alike.
Jodhpur Riff
22nd to 26th October 2026 will see the Jodhpur Riff unfold at Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur City. It coincides with Sharad Purnima, the brightest full moon of the year in north India. Now entering its 20th year, the Festival presents a series of spectacular concerts and events based in and around Mehrangarh Fort, under the aegis of the Mehrangarh Museum Trust.
Ziro
Designed as an eco-friendly outdoor music festival, Ziro is ongoing right now, until 27th September, 2026. It champions sustainability, community and diversity, while showing the world how good artists from Northeast India really are. It takes place at Ziro Valley, Arunachal Pradesh.
Hornbill Festival
Taking place from 1st to 10th December 2026 at Kisama Heritage Village in Nagaland, the Hornbill Festival is a cultural extravaganza of music, food, celebration and identity. Tribes taking part set up their own traditional wooden huts, perform warrior dances and folk songs, cook their cuisine and showcase weaves, crafts and rice beer.
Lollapalooza
Does this one really need an introduction? Lollapalooza India is all set to take over Mumbai on January 23rd and 25th, 2027. Mahalaxmi Race Course will be homeground for Olivia Dean, Katseye, 5 Seconds of Summer, The Maganiyar Seduction, Kayan, Rhea Raj and many more names who are sure to get your head bopping.
DGTL India
As a festival that began in Amsterdam in 2013, DGTL comes to India in November this year, to Mumbai and Bangalore. Captivating visuals and lightscapes accompany a carefully curated electronic music lineup, making the festival a meeting point for music, art and technology.
Magnetic Fields Nomads
Taking the spirit of Magnetic Fields beyond its home at Alsisar Mahal, Magnetic Fields Nomads brings the festival’s eclectic mix of music, art and community to new landscapes. Although the 2027 edition is yet to be announced, it could be taking place in February at Abheygarh Palace in Khetri.
