October'25 EZ

Platform Playground, a day of conversations, performances and interviews saw a plethora of inspiring artists, engaging conversations and striking stories. A powerful performance lecture by Hetain Patel left the audience in awe. The October EZ features excerpts from his conversation with gallerist and writer Mortimer Chatterjee. Art also filters in Payal Khandwala’s sensibility. Her silhouettes are as quiet, yet arresting, as her brand. Beautifully crafted and structured, Payal’s vision to create balance through her designs has earned her and her label a loyal audience and consistent applause. Megha Majumdar’s second novel A Guardian and a Thief was inspired by motherhood and what it is like being a parent in a climate crisis. A story of families and conflict set amidst future Kolkata, the book addresses pertinent questions based around climate crisis and food scarcity. The issue also presents promising debutants; Lonely People Meet, Sayantan Ghosh’s debut book seeks to ask many questions about love and the choices we make for it. Debut filmmaker Triben Rye’s Shape of Momo is already making waves at festivals, and the film highlights the various choices one makes for freedom that results in loss, all at the same time.

With festivities around the corner, Happy Reading and Happy Diwali.
