No Signal Dolorblind

'Delhi and Bangalore-based music producer and visual artist Dolorblind is drawn to the music of technology. He draws inspiration from a transformative era in India, where digital sounds permeated movie sounds, railway announcements and TV commercials. Whereas on the surface dominating beats, obscure emotive samples, and booming textures define his sound, his music is surprisingly personal and flows from an emotional mindspace. In his upcoming EP No Signal, Dolorblind explores a sonic landscape that encompasses pop, hip-hop, IDM, and ambient music. He uses unusual, atonal sounds to create boldly unorthodox compositions that at their core are extremely emotional. The project is characterised by its anthemic electronic motifs and percussive samples, creating a digital soundscape that harmoniously blends synthetic and organic elements while preserving personal and emotional storytelling.

'My music comes from a very emotional space, and I’ve always been able to channel those feelings through sounds that might resemble a sense of hopelessness. It’s an evocative blend of dystopia meets nostalgia.' Like his first single, NRG, which releases on February 18th, which he calls the 'most melodic track on the EP.' It explores themes of withdrawal and self-reflection but not in a manner one would assume.

'The sound draws from my interest in how technology gains emotional value as it ages,' explains Dolorblind, whose debut EP Forbidden Fruit released in 2020. 'Initially, that attachment is missing, but as it gets older, it starts to reflect its era and evoke nostalgia,' he adds. NRG also features his frequent and favourite collaborator, Rounak Maiti, whose album Brute Fact / Home Truth is one of the highly-rated releases of 2025 by an Indian artist. 'We’re regular collaborators because we understand each other sonically,' he shares, adding, 'We’ve done everything from Sidhu Moosewala ambient remixes to making tracks entirely out of me just breathing heavily into the mic. He is always open to experimenting and taking risks, which I enjoy as well.' On the single, Maiti’s vocals enfold the synths and drums in a way that brings the song to life with emotion. 'He made NRG feel anthemic and translated the emotions really well,' states Dolorblind. The title No Signal refers to the blue screen on televisions when signal is lost, symbolising the frustration of waiting for responses and the isolation of a world where expectations are often unmet.'

Dolorblind has also announced a five-city tour to promote the EP that releases on March 6, starting with an intimate performance at Roland Artist Centre in Mumbai on March 7, followed by shows in Delhi, Kolkata, Goa and Bangalore through the month. More details can be found here.
